Meteorologist/Analyst

Summary
As a Meteorologist/Analyst, you will utilize various meteorological and analytical tools to develop general and client-specific weather business intelligence information for worldwide locations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop accurate daily temperature and precipitation forecasts using available tools
  • Study and understand weather patterns and their effects on specific regions world wide
  • Perform analysis techniques to draw together weather business intelligence information from client data.
  • Assist Research and Development teams to design and implement new, innovative, forecast tools/methodologies
  • Perform quality control and evaluation of the forecast products
  • Provide service and support leading to client satisfaction and retention
  • Provide all appropriate management documentation and reporting

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Meteorology or equivalent in military experience
  • At least 4-years forecasting experience in North America
  • Experience with US severe weather, worldwide tropical storms and Europe a plus
  • Mathematics, statistical modeling and business knowledge/experience are highly beneficial
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and able to perform well with minimum supervision
  • Need to be an innovative thinker with a willingness to identify, investigate, and test potentially revolutionary ways to better accomplish tasks
