WAYNE, PA, June 3, 2009 — Planalytics, Inc. announced today that PECO, the Philadelphia-based electric and natural gas utility, has renewed its subscription agreement for the EnergyBuyer® service for an additional one year period. The Planalytics EnergyBuyer service provides price analysis and buying/hedging guidance that helps companies cost effectively purchase natural gas and manage price risk in a volatile market.
"Planalytics has done a good job analyzing market conditions and helping us acquire natural gas at more attractive prices," commented Carlos Thillet, Manager of Gas Supply & Transportation for PECO. "The guidance has helped us sort through the volatility and benefited our customers."
The service includes access to the EnergyBuyer website with live pricing (Nymex and Globex); buying/hedging suggestions; accounting and reporting functions; and charting and market research tools. The EnergyBuyer website continuously tracks and analyzes the key fundamental, financial and technical factors influencing natural gas prices and distills this information into straightforward "Buy" or "Don’t Buy" suggestions for each month, up to 18 months into the future.
