Florida Municipal Power Agency Selects Energy Hedging and Forecasting Services from Planalytics

Planalytics, Inc. announced today that Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA) has subscribed to its EnergyBuyer® and ImpactPower® Services. Through the EnergyBuyer Service, FMPA will able to track natural gas market conditions and identify opportunities lower fuel costs for power generation. The ImpactPower Service will enable FMPA to project weather’s impact on power demand on a weekly, monthly or seasonal basis.

The Planalytics EnergyBuyer Service provides daily global market monitoring, price analysis and buying guidance to help companies manage financial risk in today’s volatile energy markets. The EnergyBuyer Service includes direct support with Planalytics market experts and meteorologists, “InsideEdge” e-newsletters delivered throughout the week and 24/7 access to the EnergyBuyer website. The website is an analysis platform with live futures pricing (Nymex and Globex); buying, hedging and risk management suggestions; accounting and reporting functions; and charting and market research tools.

With daily market tracking and a year-ahead view of the market the EnergyBuyer Service provides viewpoints for both tactical decisions (“Should I buy gas today or this week?”) and strategic purchasing objectives (Should I lock in prices for next summer or year now?). Planalytics continuously monitors the market to determine when prices are attractive or too high, delivering companies straightforward purchasing guidance in the form of “buy” or “wait” suggestions for individual commodities and months.
