Planalytics Inc. will host its next Business Weather Intelligence Symposium on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, CA. At the Symposium, Planalytics clients will share the benefits of incorporating weather information into their analyses, planning and key business decisions. The lineup of speakers includes: Joe McMahon, Manager of Inventory Control, Ace Hardware; Catriona Van Dyck, Vice President of Planning & Allocation, Ann Taylor; Jeremy Perelman, Senior Equity Analyst, J. Goldman & Co., Inc.; Randy Kitchin, National Supply Chain Manager, Nestle Waters; and Adam O’Hara, Manager of Reporting and Analytics, Subway Franchise Advertising Fund Trust.
This highly interactive event will highlight the impact that weather has on consumers and how this impact can be effectively managed through Business Weather Intelligence tools and services. The Symposium will provide attendees with strategies for capitalizing on weather-related opportunities, proven methods for improving preseason planning and examples of the tactical adaptations (in marketing, distribution, staffing and elsewhere) that companies can make to increase sales, preserve margins or lower costs. Each speaker will share how they have successfully applied Business Weather Intelligence to specific weather-driven products or services.
“In today’s tough economy, companies cannot afford to miss opportunities or make bad decisions,” commented Scott Bernhardt, Chief Operating Officer for Planalytics. “Our clients will provide firsthand accounts of just how much weather can affect store traffic, product demand and profits and will discuss how they have been able to proactively manage this huge external risk.”
The Symposium begins at 9:00 am, after which the attendees are invited to attend the San Francisco Giants game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, beginning at 12:45 pm. Planalytics will provide food and beverages. There is no cost to attend, however registration is required due to limited seating.
